Codes per dollar
The same plans, divided through: dynamic codes on the plan, divided by the advertised monthly price. Qex Pro is 250 codes per dollar. Bitly is left off, because Core’s allowance is 5 new QR codes a month, not a pool you keep. QR.io is left off, because $39.99 buys an unlimited pool. Hovercode’s page was priced in pounds.

Qex free workspaces can create 3 codes an hour and change a destination 5 times per code per day. Pro is 10 new codes an hour, with device and country redirects. Cancelling Pro leaves codes that are already active redirecting; new codes use the free cap, and the smart rules stop. The 1,000-code Pro cap is fair use — email support to raise it.
Each generator
- Qex and QR TigerQR Tiger sells a large design and campaign suite. The pricing page lists three dynamic codes on the free plan, 500 scans each, and a logo popup. Paid plans start at US$7 a month for 12 codes.
- Qex and FlowcodeFlowcode is built for brand and campaign teams. The pricing page lists 2 free Flowcodes, analytics for 500 scans on that tier, and a Pro Plus tier of 50 codes with analytics for 6,000 scans.
- Qex and QR Code GeneratorQR Code Generator (qr-code-generator.com) is Bitly’s QR product, not the similarly named the-qrcode-generator.com. Starter, on their own comparison posts, is $9.99 a month billed annually for 2 dynamic codes and 10,000 scans.
- Qex and UniqodeUniqode, formerly Beaconstac, is an enterprise QR platform. There is no permanent free dynamic tier. Essential is $9 a month when billed annually: 15 dynamic codes, and a yearly scan limit.
- Qex and The QR Code GeneratorThe QR Code Generator (the-qrcode-generator.com) is Uniqode’s other brand. It does keep two dynamic codes after the trial. Every scan of those codes shows a 3-second advertisement before the redirect.
- Qex and HovercodeHovercode publishes one of the clearer free plans in this category: 3 dynamic codes, they don’t expire, unlimited scans, and no ads on the scan. Paid plans add codes, and those extra codes stop if you cancel.
- Qex and ScanovaScanova publishes a full grid. The entry plan, Basic, is annual only: $5 a month, paid up front, for 3 dynamic codes and unlimited scans. The analytics on that plan are 30 days of totals.
- Qex and ME-QRME-QR’s free plan is large: 10,000 created codes, unlimited scans, and no expiry date on the pricing page. The same pages say the free plan is paid for with advertisements after the scan.
- Qex and QRStuffQRStuff has been in this category for a long time. The current pricing page gives the Free Suite 10 dynamic codes and a 30-day expiration. Lite is $10 a month, or $100 a year, for 50 dynamic codes.
- Qex and BitlyBitly is a link platform that also makes QR codes. The unit on the pricing page is new QR codes per month, not a standing library of codes. Free is 2 QR codes a month. Redirects are listed on Core, not on Free.
- Qex and QR.ioQR.io sells one paid allowance: unlimited dynamic and static codes, unlimited scans, API, bulk creation and five seats. The price on the pricing page is $39.99 a month, or $350 for 12 months.
- Qex and QR Code MonkeyQR Code Monkey is a static designer. The code holds your URL directly, so it never expires and nobody can switch it off. It also cannot be edited, and it has no scan count. The control labelled for statistics sends you to a different, paid product.
