The payload is a mailto: link. There is no page to edit later, so this stays a static code. If you would rather send people to a contact form you can change, use a website QR instead.
Subject lines are useful
A printed “Scan for bookings” code with subject “Booking” lands in a filter. Leave the subject empty for a generic hello.

Does this send an email when someone scans?
No. It only opens a compose window. They still hit send.

mailto cannot attach files. Link to a form or a PDF with a website / PDF code if you need more than a message.

Not on this static code. For an address that might move, point a dynamic code at a contact page.
Is the address uploaded?
