Choose the booking page your visitor needs
Copy the public appointment link from the booking service you already use. A general service list works when visitors need to choose; a link to one service, practitioner or location works when the printed offer is specific. Check that a consultation card does not lead to a different treatment or branch. Use a stable booking page rather than a one-use confirmation, cancellation or private calendar link.
Test availability and access on a phone
Open the exact link in a private browser while signed out, then on a phone using mobile data. Check the service, location, price if shown, time zone and available dates. Follow the journey far enough to see whether visitors need an account or encounter an error, without submitting a test reservation to a real calendar. An empty calendar or a sign-in requirement belongs to the booking service; a readable QR does not fix it.
Change providers without reprinting your cards
With tracking on, the QR contains a Qex short link whose destination you can edit. Test the replacement booking page first, open the owning workspace, select the existing code and save its new destination. Creating another QR will not update cards already printed. Allow about a minute, then scan an original card to confirm the new page. With tracking off, the static QR keeps its original URL. Dynamic codes depend on Qex continuing to operate, and the booking service must remain available too.
Keep the business in control of future changes
A guest workspace depends on its original browser state until saved with email. Save it and confirm the emailed link before clearing browser storage or handing the artwork to a printer. Return with the same saved email to manage the code. For a designer’s client, let the business create and save the workspace in its own browser and send the downloaded artwork to the designer; do not share credentials or assume an artwork file transfers management access.
Give the print a clear next step
Download SVG for your card or poster layout. Label the code with the actual action, such as “Book a haircut at our High Street salon”, and include a readable booking address or another contact option. Keep the complete clear margin and test the final-size printed proof on visitor phones. Avoid promising an available appointment in the label when the service may be fully booked.
Update your printed booking code or recover access
Open the owning workspace and select the existing code to edit its destination. Save a guest workspace with email and confirm the emailed link, or sign in with the email you saved.
For a portfolio card that also links to appointments, use the business-card workflow. If the booking page will not open, check the destination and connection.
How to make a booking QR code
- Copy the public appointment linkChoose the intended service and location. Avoid private calendar, admin and one-use confirmation links.
- Check the visitor journeyTest signed out on a phone. Confirm availability, time zone and any account requirement without submitting a real booking.
- Create, export and save accessPaste the checked link here. Leave tracking on for edits, download artwork, then save the workspace with email and confirm the emailed link.
- Scan a printed proofCheck the actual card or poster at final size. Return to the same existing code when you need to change the booking destination.
Check your QR before printing
Keep the full clear margin around your downloaded QR. Print one proof at the final size, measure it, and scan it with the phones your visitors use before ordering a batch.
Compare QR print dimensions and make an A4 proof for a plain, no-logo static link or text code. For your existing dynamic code, paste its Qex short link, rather than the destination, to keep the same redirect in the proof. For a code with a logo, frame, Wi-Fi details or a contact card, test the actual downloaded artwork; the plain calculator does not reproduce that design.
Diagnose a QR code that will not scan or open if a proof fails.
Questions
Does Qex provide an appointment calendar?
No. It makes a QR link to your existing booking page. Availability, account requirements, payments, confirmations and cancellations are handled by that booking service.
Can the QR open a specific service or branch?
Yes if your booking service provides a public link to it. Paste and test that exact link. Qex cannot choose a service or location that the destination does not support.
Can I change booking providers after printing?
For a Qex dynamic code you control, edit the existing code’s destination to your tested new booking URL. Keep the same code and scan an original print to verify it. A static QR keeps its original address.
Why do visitors see no appointments?
Open the destination directly while signed out and check the service, location, time zone and availability in your booking tool. If the same problem happens without the QR, fix the booking page rather than changing the artwork.
Does a scan reserve an appointment?
No. Visitors must complete your booking service’s steps. Qex scan requests are not completed bookings or unique customers.
How do I recover access to my booking code?
For a saved workspace, sign in with the email used to save and confirm it. An unsaved guest workspace needs its original browser state; possession of the printed QR or downloaded SVG does not give management access.
