QR code for an event

Link your poster to a public registration page or a page with event details. Qex creates the QR link; your event service handles registrations and tickets. Keep tracking on to update the destination after printing.

Content

Paste the public event or registration link, not an organizer dashboard or attendee ticket.
OnRecommendedScans are counted and you can change the link any time — the printed code stays the same.OffThe link is baked into the code. No scan stats, and it can't be changed after you print it.

Registration or event details: choose the next step

Use a public registration page when the poster asks visitors to reserve a place. Use an event information page when they need the programme, venue, access information or latest announcements. If both matter, link to one mobile page with a clear registration button. Avoid organizer dashboards, private attendee tickets and one-use confirmation links. Match the printed label to the destination: “Register for the open day” and “View the programme” promise different actions.

Check what a visitor sees before printing

Open the exact destination in a private browser while signed out, then on a phone using mobile data. Check the event date, time zone, venue address, registration deadline and any sign-in requirement. Follow the registration journey far enough to find access errors, without reserving a real place or buying a ticket. A QR that reads correctly cannot fix a sold-out event or a restricted registration page.

Change the venue or time on posters already printed

If your public event page keeps the same URL, update its details there and check them signed out. If the URL changes, test the replacement page, open the workspace that owns the existing Qex dynamic code, select that code and save its new destination. Creating another code will not change the posters. Allow about a minute, then scan an original poster. A redirect cannot correct a date or address printed in ink: update affected signs and communicate the change through your event channels too.

Keep the organizer in control

Tracking on creates an editable Qex short link; tracking off stores the fixed destination in the artwork. Dynamic codes depend on Qex continuing to operate and on your event page remaining available. Save a guest workspace with email and confirm the emailed link before clearing browser storage. Return with that saved email to manage the code. Let the organizer create and save the workspace, then send downloaded SVG artwork to a designer. Artwork and printed posters do not transfer management access.

A final poster checklist

Download SVG for a poster layout or a QR image for a flyer. Keep the complete clear margin, add a specific action label and a readable event web address, and print one proof at its actual size. Scan the final layout on visitor phones from the intended distance and lighting; a screen preview is insufficient. Check that the page shows the same date and venue as the poster. Keep the URL useful after the event with an honest ended-event notice or relevant follow-up, rather than silently pointing an old poster to an unrelated event.

Update an existing event poster or recover access

Open the owning workspace and select the existing dynamic code to edit its destination. Save a guest workspace with email and confirm the emailed link, or sign in with the email you saved.

For a hosted programme, check the PDF workflow. If the event page will not open, check the destination and connection.

How to make an event QR code

  1. Choose the public destinationUse registration for a reservation call to action, or event details for a programme and updates. Never use a private ticket link.
  2. Test signed out on a phoneCheck the date, venue, time zone, deadline and access requirements without creating a real reservation.
  3. Create, export and save controlPaste the checked link here. Leave tracking on for destination edits, download artwork, then save and confirm the owning workspace with email.
  4. Check the final printed posterScan an actual-size proof. If details change, update the page or the same existing dynamic code, then rescan an original print.

Check your QR before printing

Keep the full clear margin around your downloaded QR. Print one proof at the final size, measure it, and scan it with the phones your visitors use before ordering a batch.

Compare QR print dimensions and make an A4 proof for a plain, no-logo static link or text code. For your existing dynamic code, paste its Qex short link, rather than the destination, to keep the same redirect in the proof. For a code with a logo, frame, Wi-Fi details or a contact card, test the actual downloaded artwork; the plain calculator does not reproduce that design.

Diagnose a QR code that will not scan or open if a proof fails.

Questions

Does Qex host my event or sell tickets?

No. Qex links to the public page you provide. Your website or event service handles the programme, registration, payments, tickets and admission.

Can I change the venue after posters are printed?

Update the linked event page if its URL stays the same. If the URL changes and you control the Qex dynamic code, edit that existing code’s destination and scan an original poster. Correct any venue printed on the poster separately.

Should the QR open registration or the programme?

Match the destination to the printed action. For both, use one public event page with a clear registration button. Test that visitors can reach the right event without organizer access.

Can I use this as an attendee ticket QR?

This generator makes a shared link QR. It does not issue individual tickets or check admission. Use your ticketing service for attendee credentials and entry validation.

How do I recover my event QR workspace?

Sign in with the email used to save and confirm the workspace. An unsaved guest workspace depends on its original browser state. A poster or downloaded QR file does not grant editing access.

Do scan counts tell me how many people will attend?

No. Requests can include repeats and previews. Registrations and attendance belong to your event service; they are not established by Qex scan totals.
